Will this feature remain once WP4 is out of beta/release-candidacy phases?

Is there a way to govern the frequency with which automatic updates occur?

It might be nice to set it so that it only updates automatically once a day or alternatively at my discretion using the update link in the admin footer. I don’t see a setting for this in general settings.

    Cheers,

    Chris

When you’re on the Beta Track, you get updates twice a day, every day. When you’re not, WP checks for updates twice a day every day.

You CAN disable automatic updates, but that’s actually one of the things we’re always testing with Beta, how well the updater works 🙂

When 4.0 is out, if you make sure that you have 4.0 installed and not the Beta/RC/aortic version, you’ll be back on the regular updates.

Although it’s supposed to update only twice a day, it has updated at least 3 times so far today. 6:13am, 10:53am, 2:29pm. I believe it will likely happen again later today if yesterday’s updates are a good predictor. Just double-checking: is this normal activity?

Hmm. 4 times a day… *checking* Yep, this is correct for beta.
