Updating to Parabola v1.4.0 , made the slideshow and blog posts images disapear.

I have updated today 07/08/2014 to the new Parabola theme with version v1.4.0 and this update made my images from the slideshow and all blog article images to disappear as well! I had to put the client website into a maintenance mode which is really frustrating! As I could see on the authors website cryoutcrations.eu the bug in the new update is still present and this issue happend in previous versions as well and nobody including the author came with a solution. I understand its a free theme but I was about to invest into this free theme to a paid one but now I have doubts since I haven’t received any suport or reply in the last 10 hours or so.

The update literally messed up the entire websites images on all 150 articles with pictures my client posted! However, since the problem hasn’t been resolved with the theme, I decided to come here to kindly ask for some help on this issue since I can’t figure out what is going on with this update. Does anyone know where I can find a previous version of this theme? I have looked on their website and on google but no results.

help needed please since the website is in maintenance mode and my client is killing me with phone calls.
