Twenty Fourteen -Secondary Background Image

Hello Friends,

I did a lot of searching on this, but have not found anything as yet.
I am interested in knowing how I could use an image in the Secondary (column) position. Website: http://www.i-brand.ca/

I have tried:

#secondary {
	background-image: (url) http://www.i-brand.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/hdr_side.jpg;
	}

But that did nothing. I think I am on the right track, but missing something.
I have been able to change the colour of this Secondary position with:

#secondary {
	background-color: #012F63;
	}

If anyone has idea’s on how I could accomplish this, I would like to hear from you. MAny thanks in advance for your time and effort.
