    Hello,

I have used 5 plugins for the following features:

1)social media icons so they can be updated, & clicked on by users
    2) events – to book & pay for
    3) google calendar plugin to display upcoming events
    4) slider to display the most recent events, & pictures of the centre
    5) I have used ‘image widget’ plugin for 6 footer widgets – including a google map, ebook download and small banner

Should I have used this many plugins? I can’t think of a way to reduce the amount. I have also used around 10 widgets, but have been told this is common with genesis websites and not a issue.

    Thank-you.

  • 5 plugins isn’t many. I’ve seen sites that use over 50 and run fine. The thing to remember that the number of plugins isn’t the problem, it’s how heavy each plugin is when it’s used. Some will give you alsmost no extra processing time, and others will slow your server to a crawl if they aren’t configured right.

The only reason to reduce the number of plugins is if one of more is affecting your sites loading speed too badly.

What sort of issues are you experiencing though? That sort of info is osmething that we’d need to know to make arecommendation.

I’m not experiencing any issues, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t using too many. Thank-you!
