• Suddenly the wp_bs_calendars table was empty! And no calendars are showing. What happened??

Frontend: WP Booking System: Invalid calendar ID.
Backend: No calendars found. Click here to create your first calendar.

I restored the 3 calendars from a 2 months old backup by re-creating the table data from back then. Now the calendars are displaying but are empty. But there is still the same number (7) next to the “WP Booking System” menu entry like there are 7 bookings pending.

This is a major dissapointment! Any way to get my bookings back??

  • Hi Ben,

    That is a disaster!

How did that happen? It’s very, very unlikely that our plugin deleted its own data. Even after uninstalling this is not the case. It keeps the data intact so users can upgrade to a newer version without losing any data.

Are you sure your webhosting provider didn’t do anything?

We’re interested in what version of the plugin you were/are using. Also what WordPress version you were/are using.

I will ask some more details in the ticket you created in our system.

Thanks for your reply! What I did now was go back to a backup of the db that my webhost had and now it works again. I have a db dump of both before and after. I can give you those if you care to check them out.

    WP 3.9.1
    WP Booking System 2.5

Yes, you can send them to us. We could check it.

But could you also contact your hosting provider about this issue if they can see what has happened?

You have all calendars back now?

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for the databases you sent to us for revision. We looked very carefully.

As far as we can see it looks like only the calendars were deleted from the database. The bookings and forms were still present in the database.

With this in mind and the fact the plugin can’t delete itself from the database, unless a user clicks on the delete button, we think something happened on user level or provider level.

We can’t think of any other possible cause that results in the deletion of specific tables from the database.

    Very, very strange!

Thanks for your support! The customer has probably done something like delete the calendars. Maybe a case of phone in the pocket work.
The webhosting company supplied us with a 2 day old db backup which solved the issue.
