Support » Theme: Tempera » Tempera Update broken!

  • Hi,

after updating to the latest Tempera and trying to look at the theme settings, I got a message saying “You do not have sufficient permissions…”

Now the Tempera theme is broken and on the Themes page it has been replaced by a massage:

“The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”

    How do I fix it?

  • Hello,
I have problem too. Please tell me how i do fix it?

    Fix:

Notice: It seems WordPress’ servers give out a corrupt theme archive which will make your theme unusable after the update. If you encounter this, delete and try to reinstall the theme until you receive a good zip.

    Hi,
    Tempera theme was broken
Now I have to re-install it.

    How to do it?

When I try to re-install Tempera template – there’s sign that the template already installed.

In Appearance – Theme section, there’s message:
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template. And: Tempera Template is missing.

So I failed to locate it to delete broken theme…

    Hi everyone !

I’ve got the same problem. Fortunately, I’ve done a backup before and I’ve downloaded my old directory “Tempera” on the web site. Then I’ve activated the theme and it works like before the update.

If it turns out that this version is broken then you can always download the prior version: http://wordpress.org/themes/tempera/developers/

However there doesn’t seem to be a discussion into @geavox‘s issue to explore this.

    mmmmm… 3 days later:no reply from CryoutCreations.
It seems their “strict recipe” does not include Customer Care.

I too had backed-up, using Updraft. I delete the Tempera directory and re-installed it from WordPress themes and it worked.

Consider creating a Child Theme, so if this happens again you will have all you settings still in place. http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

There are Plugins that can help with creating Child Themes

    One-Click Child Theme: https://wordpress.org/plugins/one-click-child-theme/

    Orbisius Child Theme Creator: https://wordpress.org/plugins/orbisius-child-theme-creator/

    Hi guys,

Please check our site and dedicated support forums for up-to-date fixes to these issues. We simply cannot check these forums everyday as well. Here’s what we posted a few days ago concerning this issue:

“Files at WordPress.org are held on 4 different servers and once in a blue moon it happens that the theme files on one of those servers get corrupted. Since every time you click download you get the files from a different server, you sporadically download the corrupted version of the theme.

So the best solution when this happens is to download the files again (or re-install the theme from the dashboard again). This usually fixes the problem as you’re probably getting the files from a different server which has the correct theme files.

Anyway, we’ve already submitted a notice to the WordPress Theme Repository Team and they’ll rebuild the theme files on all the servers. We’ll let you know when that happens.

Sorry for any inconvenience but this one’s totally out of our hands.”

In the meanwhile a new theme update (v. 1.2.2) has become available and it seems there aren’t any corrupt files in this one so you shouldn’t have any more problems.

    Good luck!
