• Does anyone know why the new Google Chrome browser’s spell check will not work when writing a wordpress post, but it works fine on most other sites. As I type here the spell check tells me that I spelled wordpress wrong.
I have tried Chrome’s spell check on different wordpress sites that I run and it does not work.
Any ideas or do I need to use Firefox to post so I can spell check and browse with Google Chrome?

  • You can always use the spellchecker installed in wordpress itself. But I also don’t have spellcheck in Chrome for some reason.

    Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows

So today we’re releasing the beta version of a new open source browser: Google Chrome…
…This is just the beginning – Google Chrome is far from done. We’ve released this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible. We’re hard at work building versions for Mac and Linux too, and we’ll continue to make it even faster and more robust.

    🙂

i also cannot get spell checker to work in google chrome. it shows the red underlines. but nothing on right clicking the text.

I have noticed this also. Ive been so frustrated by it that I have switched back to FireFox 3 until it is fixed.

    Chrome’s spellchecker doesn’t work anywhere,
even in Gmail (duh) everything gets underlined.
    settings are all seemingly right.
I think it used to work fine, I got Chrome a day or two after it was released, so maybe it’s a recent “bug”?
Can’t believe Google is slacking so badly…

Same here, says that every word is spelt wrong. I am a terrible speller but I am sure that I can spell all the words here….
