• Whenever I publish a new article, the date changes to August (this has been happening for 3 months now) and it becomes a scheduled post. I can then change the date to the correct month (the one we’re in) and it publishes.

Then if I go to edit a post from the last few months, rather than updating it changes it to be published in August, taking it offline. Again I have to re-edit the post and change the publication date.

It’s getting me down now, anyone know why it’s doing this please?

  • WP version? Have you done some basic troubleshooting like changing to WP Default theme and deactivating all plugins?

    3.9.1

I was hoping there would be an easier way to test but I’ll replicate the site and test these things on there.

I’ve disabled all plugins and this is still happening, it’s not a plugin causing the problem.

    Any ideas please?

Have you tried it on another (fresh) site?

    Same results?

It could be down to User permissions.

It’s only happening on this site, I own 5 wordpress sites.

What user permission could be changing the date? It’s been changing them to August since back in April/May I guess…

I was thinking along the lines of “Moderate this post”, otherwise is could be the settings of the install itself.

Download a copy of the wp-config, and reinstall WordPress. It may fix things, it may not; no harm, no foul.

Also download any plugins/themes you want to keep.

Still a problem, August was peachy as it didn’t change the date but now we’re in Sept it’s changing it again. Various users still, all plugins disabled and it’s still doing it even on 4.0!
