• All new posts to my site are dated April 19, 2014. When I manually change this, the post updates as a new draft and un-publishes.

I have turned off my theme and tried it in the default, de-activated all plug-ins, both in the admin panel and though FTP, no luck. I deleted all files except the wp-content and wp-config.php and re-uploaded from a fresh download, nothing.

My website is hosted through dreamhost, so I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the server clock, but it seems more likely that something is wrong with my site or database.

Any ideas on what’s going on here? If it’s a database issue, it’s a bit over my current skill level, but I would love to solve this without having to wipe out everything and start clean. Thanks!

I’ve kept playing with it, and when I make a new post, if I try to edit the timestamp and then cancel, it will correct to the right time.

However, an edit will revert it back to April. Any help? Thanks.

I just went back to this today, and it’s just the month that is stuck on April. I really really don’t want to delete everything and re-start from scratch. Is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you.

I’m experiencing the same problem on just one of my websites. When I try to update a post or page, it gets unpublished — the status changes to draft and the month changes to April.

I haven’t been able to determine the cause of the problem yet or how to fix it.

I’ve been having this since April, the date and time is correct, but the month constantly goes to April. The code appears ok, so I was guessing a javascript-type issue. This is a larger live client site so I haven’t been able to turn off plugins or do any extensive testing.

There was some work done by another contractor at the time who added an in-page slideshow set of javascript, but I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary there.

Here’s a list of active plugins:

    • Advanced Excerpt
    • Akismet
    • Contact Form 7
    • Contact Form DB
    • Fiat Alert Bar
    • Google Analyticator
    • Login Security Solution
    • Log User Access
    • PS Auto Sitemap
    • WordPress SEO
    • WP OS FLV
    • WP Video Lightbox

    Hey Guys

Long shot probably, but are any of you using LastPass by chance with Chrome? I had a customer that had almost exact problem as you guys and his issue stemmed from using LastPass in Chrome. Strange but true. Thought I would point that out in case you guys were as well.

I am using LastPass with Chrome, but I only have this problem with one of my several websites.

Interesting, yes those are the circumstances for me, but like gaplauche, it’s only on one of my sites… weird…

    Thanks!

Yes Disable Last pass extension in chrome and remove all cache and cookies and try again. Or try a different browser all together.

I only had the problem on one of my sites as well. It was happening in both Chrome and Safari, but turning off Last Pass worked for both.

I never installed Last Pass in Firefox and it worked fine.

    Thank you!

Awesome!! I am so glad that was the issue and fix for you.

I’ve confirmed that LastPass for Chrome was the source of the problem for me as well. Thanks, Mike!

Permanently deactivating the extension isn’t an option for me, however; I use it heavily. I tried deactivating it, clearing the browser cache and cookies, then reactivating it, but that didn’t get rid of the problem.

I put in a support ticket with LastPass and here is what they said:

It sounds like LastPass may have over aggressively extra data on April 19th and is now autofilling the date for you. We ran into this issue previously but it is now fixed. However, you still need to recreate the issue for past issues. To fix this, please delete and resave the wordress entry in your Vault. Let me know if this works for you.

So I deleted the website’s entry in LastPass (saving the password elsewhere first), as suggested, then recreated it from scratch. This fixed the problem for me. No need to stop using LastPass.

You might also want to log into your account on lastpass.com, go into your settings, and look in the “Never URLs” section. Delete any reference to the problematic website, if any are there. I had done this before contacting LastPass and it didn’t resolve the problem for me, but who knows — you might need to do it in addition to LastPass’s solution.

Sweet ! That is great info and I am happy to see LastPass was all over that with a fix. Thanks for sharing!
