• Hi,
I sell stand up paddleboards on my site that is counryspecific for Switzerland, let´s call it webshop.ch (in webmasters i set it for Switzerland)

This is going great, namely because organic search results are fantastic.

I want to expand and want to open a second site, that is applicable for european countries outside Switzerland. Lets call it webshop.com

I can´t combine the 2 sites because of business reasons.

    1) MY question: when i do this – use the same name but with extension .com –will this be bad for organic ranking of the new site webshop.com ? I read somewhere that google will penalise and i should go with another name instead. — is this correct ? (you read so much online) wil it also hurt my existing site: webshop.ch ??

    2) Second question: the new site will target germany, the uk and france. How to set the webmaster geo target, can you also set it for multiple countries? or should i go with picking one country ?

    3) Is a multi-site better for SEO (webshop.de + webshop.fr + etc) ?
Or can i just as well go with webshop.com/lang=de webshop.com/lang=eng
or should i go with de.webshop.com and fr.webshop.com

    All info welcome.

    Many thanks
    Mark
