    Hi,

    Since i see a lot of development is happening for the plugin (after a very long sleep period), i have two suggestions to make.

    1. In the garbage collection PLEASE the garbage collection timeout from SECONDS (!) to PHP’s strtotime() function. For example: 30 seconds, 2 hours, 7 days, 6 months, 1 year. Same for the preload refresh from MINUTES to also PHP’s strtotime().
    2. The preload function should if enabled should start after the cache is cleared manually.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the suggestions. The first one is definitely doable, but it’s presuming too much to do a preload when the cache is cleared.

    @donncha Hi,

    Why preload again each time the (whole) cache is manually cleared, is too much?

    If the webmaster has selected preload and auto refresh, why it doensn’t make sense? It makes perfect sense.

    Anyways, thank you

    The main reason not to preload when clearing the cache is that not everyone uses preload. It complicates an already complicated plugin to connect them and check if preloading is scheduled in this way.

    Maybe someone is clearing the cache to test a theme change in their CSS on multiple pages. They’ll need to test those pages, go back to editing CSS, clear the cache again, which would start the preload again, and so on.

    Would you mind creating enhancement requests in Github for these two ideas? You can do it on this page below. Make sure to select “Super Cache” as the affected plugin. Someone else like the “preload after clearing cache” idea and work on it.
