Hi,
Most probably, the media translation is selected in Polylang settings but your media don’t have a language or a language different from the post you are currently editing (you can check that in the list view of the media library). When you edit a post, Polylang shows you only the images in the language of the post that you are currently editing.

Thanks @chouby. I re-activated the plugin to see if the photos acquired a language setting, and they are set to English by default, which is the language of the post I uploaded them from.

There are several cases.
If you upload the media from the media library, the language assigned is:
* the default language if the admin language filter shows all languages.
* the language selected in the admin language filter otherwise.
If you upload the media while editing a post, the language assigned is the language of the current post being edited.

Thanks. Alas these images aren’t showing when Polylang is activated. This is a pretty standard WordPress install, so not sure why this is occurring since there is a language set for these image files. Would you like to take a look? Happy to share a WordPress login privately if helpful.
Hi, I have a similar issue with medias.
First I must say I moved translations form WPML to Polylang with your dedicated plugin.
The issue was already there in WPML, even worst:
All images uploaded in wordpress were not showing afterwards in the media library although they were in the uploads folders.
So I couldn’t reuse images in other languages and had to upload them again and again.
I was hopping to solve this by changing to polylang, but it didn’t do it 100%:
Now I can see images in the media library, but not always in the editor, although I have Media translations deactivated in settings.
In English (main language) it’s working fine and I can see them in media and editor.
But in secondary language, I can’t see any uploaded images in the editor, and I noticed that they don’t have any asigned language in the media library.
Thanks in advance for your help.
If you need I can do a video like pro99 to illustrate the situation.
Regards
Roland
If you see the media in english post but not in Spanish it means you didn’t “translate” the media files. A Post is language related. In the media selector you see only the media which are linked to the same languages of the post.
I have the same problem and looking a lot but I could not find any solutions
although I added it indepently and translated the means in the same language but did not appear it in first page of front
