  • I can relate, I’ve got several problems after the update and my site is completely messed up, looked out the changelog if something is incompatible, but found nothing wrong.
I’m gonna have to restore a previous backup and wait for some answers on it.

Thank you for reporting but we’ll need more info to find an error.
    Please let us know!

Same thing under PHP8 the @post_excerpt tag raise errors into the admin Pods editor and some html issues on the web site front end. But not able to reproduce on all my sites.
I try to give you more informations

If you see any errors please include them here so we can review them.

All Pods 2.8 related issues reported will be dealt with swiftly this week by our team.

Temp domain so I can leave it as is for now…

Both Menu and Wine worked before.
http://willp9.sg-host.com/menu/ (2.8 broke it). Pod name: “Dinner Food Item”
http://willp9.sg-host.com/wine/ Still works (in toggles) Pod name: “Wine”

    Same code on both.
I had previously placed the Wine on the Menu page without the toggle and it worked fine. Just an issue with the “Dinner Food Item”

    I hope this helps.

@vegaswill Where it shows the “Pods embed error: Pod not found” message, is that a post type archive page and is that using the Auto Template option?

The funny thing is that both the food menu and the wine are the same.

Enable Archive Page, and Automatic Template are both checked but I’m using my own template. Sorry, not sure if that answers your question.

    Here’s my code:
    [pods name=”Dinner Food Item” limit=”100″ where=”type_of_food.meta_value = ‘Appetizers'” template=”Food Menu” shortcodes=1]

But again: Both are set the same, one works, the other doesn’t. It drove me insane last night so I just restored the backup.

Are you able to hop onto our Live Slack Chat (https://support.pods.io/chat/) to work this out more quickly @vegaswill? Your staging site still shows the problem and that may mean we can fix it today to go out with Pods 2.8.1.

Ok. I’m on. Where do you want me to go?

    Hello again,
the error message is about the Pods SEO plugin, only under PHP 8.0.11
Une erreur de type E_ERROR a été causée dans la ligne 210 du fichier wp-content/plugins/pods-seo/classes/pods-seo-wpseo.php. Message d’erreur : Uncaught TypeError: array_merge(): Argument #2 must be of type array, Pods\Whatsit\Object_Field given in wp-content/plugins/pods-seo/classes/pods-seo-wpseo.php:210

So not Pods, sorry about this, should i have to ask on this thread? https://fr.wordpress.org/plugins/pods-seo/

    (@sc0ttkclark)

After going over the use-case from @vegaswill, we determined the problem was the usage of the [pods name="Some Pod Name" ...] using the Pod label instead of the name (some_pod_name) was the problem in their case.

If anyone else in this thread would like to further work on their issues, feel free to post them to our GitHub https://github.com/pods-framework/pods/issues/new/choose with as much detail as you can find like error messages, what query you were running, and screenshots if you think they are helpful.

@olivlyon yeah that’s where you’d want to post it, but I will add it to my list to update with 2.8 compatibility.

    @olivlyon I’m pushing a Pods SEO 2.2.1 update to wordpress.org now.

Thank you very much for the last Pods SEO update, that fixed the PHP8 compat.

Regarding the other front-end issue, i fixed it by setting: pods > template list filter > removing Filter: the_excerpt
otherwise the tag {@post_excerpt} will display all the loop one more time
