 * Hi,
 * The latest version 2.1.9 does not seem to work properly: lost .json translations
   and ignored the “required” checkbox in frontend.
 * Regards.

 * We did a reproduction test based upon the behavior of the ‘required’ checkbox
   in the front-end not working. We show from the previous version 2.0.34 to the
   updated 2.1.9 version and the functionality is working properly.
 * If we have misunderstood the specific ignore result you are experiencing on the
   front-end, please provide us a quick video of the behavior including the settings
   of the add-on. This will allow us to review and try to reproduce the issue.
 * On the translations lost, we don’t see any French translations in the official
   WordPress translation database for the plugin: [https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/product-add-ons-woocommerce/](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/product-add-ons-woocommerce/).
   If you manually added the json files, depending on the directory you placed the
   translated files, since an update occurred those files would have been overridden
   and you would have to copy back manually. If the translations are stored in the
   WordPress French directory, any updates will automatically pull in the translated
   files. Plus other French community users can enjoy the translations as well.
   🙂

 * Hi,
 * Sorry, for not being clear enough.
 * When I talk about checkbox, I mean the one in the Required field, in backend.

   However, I noticed that it didn’t work in frontend for **select** type. Have
   you tested all types of addons?
 * Otherwise, if I have a moment, I’ll try to make you a video.
 * Regards.

 * About the translations, the files are all manually in place, (.mo, .po, .json)
   in the /lang folder of the plugin. I even duplicated them in the wp-content/languages/
   plugins folder.
 * With version 2.1.9, the translation is incomplete, the .json files are not found.

   With a downgrade by ftp to version 2.0.34 everything is translated, even from
   the .json files.
 * Strange, isn’t it?

 * Thanks for all the great details and information. This is really helpful to troubleshoot
   and evaluate the issue.
 * We have been able to reproduce the issue with the required option for the Select
   add-on and working on the fix.
 * For the translations issue based upon the directory placement of the files, we’re
   still investigating based upon the details you shared. We’ll follow-up with an
   update, or if we need any more details to evaluate it properly.

 * As a quick follow-up, we have released an update 2.1.11 to address the issues
   you flagged. Thank you for reporting.

 * In 2.1.11 the translations still don’t take .json.

 * You were correct, version 2.1.9 included a directory file name change that introduced
   the issue causing the failure to load json translations. The fix was made in
   2.1.11.
 * We tested the latest version 2.1.11 to pull in and display the json files properly
   from the support languages in WordPress, Slovak.
 * As you can see, all strings are being displayed in the plugin now. Including
   the json file and strings.

 * Since you are using a manual approach. We’d recommend trying the following:
 * – Delete all the files in the directory “wp-content/languages/plugins/”
    – Switch
   to another language – Add the language files back to the directory “wp-content/
   languages/plugins/” – Switch back to your locale language – Now navigate to the
   plugin dashboard
 * If the translations are still not displaying, go to Dashboard > Updates and Import
   the translations.

 * I saw that the folder name had changed from `core` to `scripts`.
    I tested your
   switch solution above: it doesn’t work. Besides, to update a language, it must
   be active on Translate. I think there is a problem with manual language files.
   Regards.

 * Can you post the manual language files you are using and trying to load? We’d
   like to take a look at the files and understand why they might not be loading.

 * Hi,
 * As PTE, I translated the plugin into French on wp.org: the .json works.
    If you
   want to test on your ticket system, you can download the files there.

 * I’ll keep looking for reasons why they don’t work in manual.
 * Regards.

 * Wow! Thank you so much. We are very thankful you translated and added the French
   translations to wp.org. This is great for the plugin and French community of
   users.
 * Ok sounds good. We will also perform testing on this file now to see if we can
   understand the behavior issue as well. If you have any insights as you review,
   let us know. We’d be happy to evaluate and try and deploy any needed fixes.
 * Again, thank you for your time and effort in providing the French translations.
