 * The WordPress Codex has the installation instructions.

 * Do you have a root or managed server? With the root server you set up MySQL db
   in the Plesk control panel. Managed I can’t help you with.

 * Robswday, I’ve got four WordPress sites set up with 1&1. If you want to email
   me, maybe I can help you out?

 * One thought. If the managed servers work like their hosting account, there’s
   a MySQL Administration link under Websites & Applications.

 * … but only if you’ve got a “business” account with 1&1. the cheapest package
   doesn’t offer MySQL or PHP.

 * Actually, that’s not correct. I don’t have a business account with 1&1. Mine
   is a standard $4.99/month account, and it comes with PHP plus up to 25 MySQL
   databases.
 * But I’m still not able to get this stuff working, yet.
