v2.9.3. giving trouble with Akismet (again…)

    For my new site I’m using Akismet and I installed Slim JP version 2.9.3. Akismet doesn’t work since: the admin settings panel stays completely blank.

    When Slim JP is deactivated Akismet runs smoothly again.
    It doesn’t seem to make any difference which JP module is used, and it also happens when the plugin is activated but no modules are active.

    Looking at other threads this seems to be a returning problem (also in older versions)…

    What to do?

    If you have WP_DEBUG enabled, you see this error:

    Notice: akismet_conf is deprecated since version 3.0 with no alternative available.

    The author of Slim Jetpack needs to change the way he or she detects whether Akismet is installed.

    Hopefully the developer reads your info as well…
