• I have read all the post about MU-plugin and installed and installed again the MU-plugin and it does not work the way I am wanting to do things.

Here’s what I want to do.

    example:_
Have two domains (examples) abc.com and xyz.com

I want to be able to install WP on abc.com with the theme and plugins of my choice and do the same with xyz.com using one database.

I want ot allow users to register and login in at either .com site and be able to access the other .com site as if registered there and be able to post on one .com site and see it on the other and vice-versa and be able to comment on it on either .com site.

I don’t want to have anything like abc.xyz.com or xyz.com/abc/ etc.

I want full operational .com sites that I can use different themes and plugin on as I choose but both .com sites use only one database.

Now tell me if this is possible with WordPress software, if so where do I go to get what I need to accomplish it.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Sure.

    1) Install WordPress on xyz.com
    2) Activate Multisite
    3) Create a site for ABC – this will (temporarily) be abc.xyz.com or xyz.com/abc/
    4) instal a domain mapping plugin
    5) map abc.com to abc.xyz.com or xyz.com/abc/
    6) Rinse and repeat.

Ipstenu, I did exactly as you instructed but apparently I’m not smart enough to make it work. I’ve been struggling with it since I got your response to no avail. Do you know of a good instructional site for it.

Where are you stuck? What steps did you get through SUCCESSFULLY.

OK, I am fairly plugin friendly but, you are right, I am stuck.

    Here is the main(parent) website :- http://wormfarmersgazette.com
and it works as it should and is noted as the primary.

I created this in the MU plugin add a site section :-
    http://wormfarmersgazette.com/farming/
and that URL comes up fine but I want it to point to :- http//wormfarmingazette.com but it doesn’t.

I have looked for an additionl plugin that I am suppose to have to complete the action but found none.

Am I suppose to have the WordPress software uploaded and installed on the http//wormfarmingazette.com site for it to work.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I drive an 18 wheeler and am without internet access most of the time til I get home.

Your patience and any help you can provide to accomplish this is definately appreciated.

If you google “WordPress Domain Mapping Plugin” the very first hit is the one I use: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

Network activate the plugin, all the settings will be in the network admin.

I’ve already done that and I am up to here as I previously said:-

As a “super admin”, visit Super Admin->Domain Mapping to create the domain mapping database table and set the server IP address or a domain to point CNAME records at.

Did you do that? It’s in the directions on the plugin page, which I presume you’ve read.
