I will have to take some time to look at how things have changed and see what it will/would take to bring this addon to the newest version.

I am glad so many people want to see this brought to ACF 5. It is encouraging to see people are using it. I am finishing up my last week of full time employment so that I can go freelance and have more time for personal projects like this one.
I hope to get back to this plugin soon to provide the update that you are all looking for.
Unfortunately there’s not a huge amount of documentation yet about the ACF5 action hooks or the acf_render_field_setting function. Nonetheless, as a start I’ve got a version working with ACF5 in my project – though I’m sure it can be improved upon!

I haven’t heard of Fontastic, but I have considered making a ACF add-on that allows people to use their own custom font packs like ones generated at IcoMoon. Presumably the ones created by Fontastic would work the same way.
The project isn’t in development, but is on my list of ideas.
