2.3.1 unable to post with images

Okay so I need a little assistance with a friends wordpress installation. They are running 2.3.1 and up until just recently everything had been working fine, they were able to post whatever, whenever and there not be any issues.
Just this last week however whenever they go to post, if they try to include any images in the post, once they click to publish all they get is a blank screen it doesn’t post and redirect to the edit page like normal. If they post without any images (just straight text) it posts fine.
Nothings really been changed in the last few days so not quite sure what would have happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more info just let me know and I will do my best. Thanks in advance all.
