MAJOR Plugin Management Page Error

I am having a major problem with my Plugin Management Page. I checked it in both IE and FFox 3.1, and it is the same.

When I click the plugin tab on the admin screen, I get an extremely long load time which only includes about 5 of my plugins on the screen as being active. I have in excess of 15 or so that I am actually using. The deactivated plugins table doesn’t appear at all.

All of the plugins appear to be working, but now I can’t even use the interface to remember which ones I am using or to turn them off.

I reinstalled 2.6.1, and that didn’t fix it. Any thoughts on what I should do to get this rectified. I have to say this makes me uneasy — as if an impending disaster is approaching.
