Best practices for mobile alternative site

I’ve been asked to create a better mobile user experience for a-r-k.us I have a lot of plugins already running on this site including buddypress , bbpress and WPtouch Mobile Plugin, so I’m a little leary about adding another one without knowing if it will play nice with others.

suggestions, links, ideas, comments all welcome.
