• I understand and appreciate the dev team’s focus on making the core WP easy to use, but I could not be more emphatic about bringing back more of the features on the edit images button.

I don’t remember all the features, but one in particular could not be easier, the text wrapping. I saw countless threads dealing with this single issue and an equal amount of coding work-arounds. It seems to me that you and the other dev team could save a lot of time simply bringing back some of the functionality of image editing.

One of my sites, a Simplify theme, I’m not even going to update because I don’t want to lose this feature along with the ease of spacing and borders.

This should be handled by your theme’s CSS. If your theme is not doing this correctly, then I would suggest that you contact the theme’s developer.

Sadly in order to do that rollback, we would have to rip out more than just the image editor. It was not just an edit/remove change, it was a rewrite. We’d rather go forward and improve the one we have now, which is faster, more reliable, and more stable.
