Using a pre-existing subdirectory install

I built a beta site in a subfolder on a clients server and want to push live to the main URL. I followed these instructions to redirect the domain to the subdirectory and ran into problems. I was able to back out of all of it except the first 3 steps of changing the betasite’s URL to the root URL. Now I’m unable to log into the beta site because it defaults to the manetteinlove.com root URL.

This is the beta site.

Maybe I’m too tired to be attempting this right now. I’m missing some crucial step. I’ve done this many times before!
