• Hello, I have an urgent request for help if anybody can spare a moment to help me. Moments ago I logged into my Clients almost complete site, due to launch in a few days to coincide with their TV advertising campaign. WP 3.9.1 running woo commerce and the Woo Superstore theme, and noticed a plugin update (formidable Forms) so I updated. Since the update I have not been able to access admin or the site ever again. as it showed it was unavailable temporarily for maintenance. This shows on screen ( Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute. ) 1 hour later It was is still stuck like this. Finally I was eventually able to log in, and saw this new message in Admin saying ( the update failed please update again.) I am supposed to show progress of the site to my Client later today! Please can somebody help me if they can by advising if Formidable forms sometimes takes a little while to update, and do you think it will be safe to try the update again? I am a little nervous of being locked out of WP after that hour long little scare ! LOL …..
    It was a little early in the morning for me to receive a burst of adrenaline like that !! However it certainly woke me up a lot faster than my coffee was doing!

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – deleting the .maintenance file in the root folder

    Thank you so much for your fast response, much appreciated, I will try that, I also just noticed when I was able tot log in, that Formidable forms is compatible unto a lower version of WP, would you happen to know if the PRO version of Formidable forms is or will soon be compatible with WP latest version 3.9.1 any time soon, I have the intention of purchasing it as the unlimited site version, but not if it’s not going to be compatible.

    If you happen to know the answer to this, I’d love to here from you.
