Great plugin… want to make it even greater?

    Hello there,

    I wanted to thank you most sincerely for this lovely little plugin, lightweight and simple to use, if I can ever get my Trustees to use the WPBB Forums I installed and this plugin (I work part-time for an organisation with a tiny budget, huge, elderly membership and a management committee of an average age of 75+ :/).

    BTW, I couldn’t work out whether the plugin has front-end options, to display the board, its members and committees, or whether it only works through the WP admin interface – which is way too confusing for my Trustees.

    So I wondered whether you had ever considered:

    1) adding Officer roles – I am in the UK, so forgive the, possibly unfamiliar English terminology – Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Trustee and Co-optee are commonly the roles in a British Charitable or unincorporated Community management committee or Board of Trustees.

    2) Integrating a fork of either ForumPress – now sadly all but abandoned by its author and not well supported by another outfit – or WPBB; both are excellent, lightweight BBS plugins that do not require a separate installation, like MyBB, nor are they as vast and complex as ByddyPress or bbPress.

    This could give us a fantastic, seamless Non-Profit communication channel for non-profit boards that cannot manage to meet very often and so could use secure online discussion boards, to conduct preliminary debates, prior to meeting and voting; integrating project-management – a bit like CalPress for BuddyPress could then make it THE product of choice and make you leaders in the field.

    Ah yes… and the option to print a discussion, thread or even whole board could give poor sods like me a ready-made set of minutes that I can post off to Trustees not on email… (yes I have 4 of those 🙁 [sigh!] )

    Well… anyway… just a thought! 🙂

    Hi Gea,

    Thanks a lot for reaching out and for providing such great suggestions! As far as the front-end goes, there is a way to list out the board members using a shortcode. You can watch a video on how to do this at the bottom of http://wordpress.org/plugins/nonprofit-board-management/faq/.

    For your suggestion about officers, that has been recommended a number of times and is definitely on our radar.

    For integration with forum tools, that’s a great idea and can probably be done at this point with some custom coding. That said, we don’t have any existing integration with other plugins.
