Moved from WordPress.com to Custom WordPress

Hi there guys,

I’m writing this because I’m sort of worried. I run a website called Maple-News.com, which delivers the latest news about the popular MMORPG MapleStory. We’ve been using WordPress.com since January 2008, but our sponsor recently quit so we needed to put google ads up. We moved to my friends hosting which he’s letting us use for free and got an amazing new layout. I’ve been worried about the switch because I know WordPress.com makes it very easy for your blog to get search engine hits and what not. I was just curious to whether or not my switching to custom wordpress would affect my hits at all. I have the WordPress.com blog redirecting to the new one…but is that enough?
