• I run a WP site (www.popdose.com) with a little over 20 writers. A handful of us have Editor status, and the rest are Contributors. We use this setup to maintain editorial consistency — the Contributors submit posts and the Editors…well, they edit.

Since upgrading to 2.6 this week, however, we’ve had all sorts of difficulties with non-Editors writing posts and saving them, only to see all formatting stripped from their posts. I’m talking images, links, text formatting — you name it. Some folks are getting messages saying they don’t have permission to do whatever it is they’re trying to do.

It seems like the only solution — that I’ve been able to find, anyway, and it might not even be totally effective — is to make everyone an Editor. Needless to say, I’m not happy about this; not only does it alter the way we’ve set up our operation, it begs the question of why in the world WP bothers having different levels of users at all.

Is anyone else having this problem? I’ve seen no trace of it anywhere else on the Web.
