Marketpress "Product Category" Gridview

    OK… I know that there is a Grid view plugin that a member developed. However, it can only be used on the store front page to put the merchandise in a grid, but there is no category order to that page.

    I need a gridview on the “category product” pages. I used posts to set up Categories with Images as links to the individual product categories. So, depending on the image you click, you will be directed to a page(s) with all of the products in that category.

    Does any one have any insight on how I can access the product category page template to add the grid shortcode or;

    how I can get the products on the product category pages into a grid view of 4 items in a row,5 rows, then new page?

    My extensive efforts to get this done have led me to conceptualize a “product category” page template, using the gridview plugin as a code resource….but, I can only conceptualize because I have no clue where to start.

    Any direction would be fabulous!!!! I appreciate you. AND Please NO Rude responses, this is a support forum, I am learning and I am asking for support.

    Could I ask for you to provide a link to a category page so I could have a look at that specifically?

    I think we’ll be able to adapt a helpful snippet to get a nice grid view going here. 🙂

    Hi there @rpatwall1206,

    Thanks for providing that! Could I quickly ask what you have for the Products List View option in the Product List Settings section at Products > Store Settings > Presentation?

    By default it should be set to Grid View. Could you try changing to that if it’s not?

    If it is already set to that, could I ask for you to try quickly switching to a default theme (Twenty Thirteen, Twenty Fourteen, etc) in order to see how it looks with that?

    MarketPress should display a grid view of products by default but your theme may be overriding that.

    Hopefully, we can find that out with the above. 🙂

    Hello David,

    Thanks so much for your helpful attention to my issue. It appears that the theme that I am using is creating this issue. Since I had not gotten very far with the store set-up I found it quite easy to incorporate the same features from my current theme to the Twenty Fourteen. I worked on it for a while before deciding this is the way I am going to finish out this product…using a different theme.

    You’re most welcome, glad to help! Though sorry if your previous theme was having issues with the grid view. 🙁

    We’re happy to try and assist, though it could get quite complicated if the theme leaves no way to override its styling.

    hi i had same problem ,i can’t view the products related to to a spécial catégory in catégory page,my theme is “RT-théme 17”,please help me and thanks in advance .

    Greetings and thanks for posting! Could I ask for you to create a new topic so we could assist there?

    This particular issue has to do with the gridview specifically and using a different theme. So if you’ll simply create a new topic and give us a link to your site, we’ll gladly take a look. 🙂
