Support » Fixing WordPress » Unpublished Posts still Published!!

  • I have made several posts in “Unpublish” mode. It took me all day yesterday, but lo and behold, i looked at my metrics and i still get many visits on the “unpublished” posts so i investigate and followed the URL, and voila! the supposed unpublished posts are still published! wtf!!! can wordpress do something about these things. it is frustrating.

Also, if one tries to mass delete posts, it returns an error message instead., so that the only means to delete a post is to go and open the posts and delete each and everyone of them, a very tedious task indeed.. Another wtf!!

  • You can still access unpublished posts if you’re logged in as admin.
Try to logout or to close the session (or in another browser as I do for anonymous users tesing), you’ll receive a message like “Whoops! That Page Isn’t Here”.

    Hi there,
I see this is the same issue already addressed here, but this still doesn’t address the main issue unfortunately.

Simontol, to elaborate a bit, whenever I create an unpublished post and save it as such, it still shows up on the live site. I’ve tested this from other anonymous browsers to make sure it wasn’t a result of me being logged in as an admin, but it still shows up for regular users. So, this is clearly an issue.

    Thoughts? Using version 2.6, btw.

    Thanks.
