Strange number appearing at the end of the URL

    We found the following link in google analytics http://www.womensweb.in/articles/5-museums-in-india/574654/ and see that the link has a strange number at the end of the URL. They found more links via Google Search integrated on the site.

    Please goto the site http://www.womensweb.in/ and search for the word “museum” and you see that the first 2 results have strange number. Infact the second result has a word Part xxxx in the title of the search. We are clueless on how and why this is happening.

    We are worried on the implications on SEO for the number present at the end of the url. I also tested WordPress VIP blog and see that you can actually add any random number at the end of the URL and it works.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
