Listing talks/posters (with bibfilter)

    Hi! Great plugin.

    I would like to know it there’s a way of listing talks and posters and using bibfilter to filter through them the some way I do for publications.

    So the filter would have “Author” and Type (“Talk” or “Poster”) as parameters.
    I am not an expert so I don’t how to go about this, but maybe it is possible and easier than I thought.

    My questions are:

    1) How to let bibtex know that an item is a poster or a talk (i. e. what bibtex entry types should I use for this?)

    2) How to let papercite identify these and display the right fields.

    Hi,

    1) apart from the publication type, there is no standard way of doing so, so you could for example use a “type”

    2) you would have to modify the code, since for the moment bibfilter only allows the publication type (bibtex type) and authors to be filtered.

    Alternatively, you can add a feature request on github – https://github.com/bpiwowar/papercite – and I might one day try to improve bibfilter to handle arbitrary filters.
