Theme repository and localization

Hi guys,

first I was very pleased about the new WordPress Theme Repository at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes. It offers much of the same functionality to theme authors as the Plugin Repository already does to plugin authors. Once it is established, there is one single point for users to look for a new and fresh look for their blogs.

Nevertheless I am a bit disappointed about the lack of localization support in most of the themes. If a theme isn’t localized by using gettext functions, it is not usable for most of the WordPress users cause they are foreign language speakers. I usually vote 1 star for such themes regardless how good they are in terms of design.

I hope that over time, theme authors will get used to localization as it has already happened in the plugin scene.
