• I’ve been trying to do this for 2 years, for 3 different blogs, all different themes, which sometimes change. The Facebook lint debugger hates them all.

Since I’m a visual artist (cartoonist), I really need those thumbnails there. I tried an og plugin, a facebook thumbnail plugin, some code in the header I found here, and some more, including the Facebook official plugin I have right now. I can see the og for most of the items, and sometimes even for the image, but the debugger keeps telling me:

Provided og:image could not be downloaded or is not big enough.

I just uploaded the plugin Auto Post Thumbnail, recommended by that Facebook plugin, and it crashed my whole site – really obnoxious.

Please tell me how to upload a thumbnail with my links to the Facebook page. Oh, I also asked on their developer forums, and of course they just maligned WordPress.

    Thank you with hope.

Something else possible: I decided to cut Google out of the action, and have a robots text to disallow all images. Then I wondered if that includes Facebook, as a bot. I can’t find the name anywhere of the Facebook bot, so I set it to allow Facebook. Should I add bot to the name, or something else? Believe me, I looked everywhere for their web crawler name!!

I finally figured out one thing: My theme, White House or WhiteHouse, has “thumbs”. I think I hid them in style, and forgot they were there, but the lint debugger is reading the tiny thumbs as my image. So I DO have an og-image, only the thumbnail is being accepted by og as the real one and it’s too small.

There are a lot of lines of codes about thumbs in the config.features.php of this theme – I’m a little uncertain which are safe to remove, but I don’t want thumbs at all. I guess it’s too much to expect that anyone else here still has this old theme, but if you do, please help!
