• I just began working with the twentyfourteen theme. I created a child theme and have a list of my pages displayed in the left sidebar. The list has a title, “Pages,” above it. How do I remove this title? I found a forum post that indicates I need to edit the function wp_list_pages($args). I think I understand *how* I need to alter the function, but I’m not sure what files I need to edit when I do this. I couldn’t find it in function.php.

    Thanks in advance.

  • As an alternative you could use a Custom Menu widget on the Content Sidebar instead of the Pages widget. You can leave the Custom Menu widget Title field blank and you will not have a heading showing on the front-end of the site.

Just create a custom menu first, adding the pages you want shown on the sidebar.

OK that worked, thanks. But for the future, how would I carry out my original plan?
