REQUEST: Ability for Users to Claim Articles Like TextBroker or Demand Media

    Author, are you familiar with TextBroker or Demand Studios? This plugin should allow blog admins to do the following:

    1- Admin can post titles that need to be written, viewable from a pool of assignments.

    2- Writers see this pool of assignments and they can click to grab them.

    Here are some examples:

    FROM ADMIN SIDE:

    FROM THE WRITERS SIDE:

    3. Once claimed, the assignment would be stored in the “POSTS” page for the writer to write.

    Options:
    Ideally, admin should be able to set how many assignments a writer can claim at a time.

    If a post has been claimed, then nobody else can claim it (to prevent multiple people from writing the same article.)

    Admin should be able to set a deadline for articles (i.e. 7 days)

    A writer should see if his article was ultimately published or trashed (therefore, no payment given.)

    My website could REALLY use this feature!! Either in the free version or the Pro version. I don’t care!

    What has all this have to do with Post Pay Counter? Sorry, but I couldn’t get it!

    It’s simply a feature request. In other words, I was wondering if everything I said above can be added as features (considering your plugin is related to paying contributors for articles.)

    So basically, an admin can post assignments for writers to see, and writers could claim those assignments and write them (similar to the screenshots i posted.)

    This would go nicely into this plugin, or maybe into a brand new plugin altogether.

    Just a thought.

    Thats amazing, it comes really close to the things I need!

    Sadly, there’s only one big vulnerability:

    When a contributor claims a title, other contributors can steal it from him. It would be nice if the plugin detects that it’s already been claimed by someone else in real-time, and not let them claim it.

    I know that the plugin can let others know that someone already claimed it first, but it’s still a vulnerability if a blog has dozens of authors, etc.

    I’ll add your request to my to-do list, even though I don’t expect it to be implemented soon (i.e. in the current month) since I’m quite busy with Post Pay Counter and its PRO.

    You’re a very active developer and we all appreciate that.

    Quick question: Am I allowed to make such changes myself and make this plugin suitable for my needs? Am I allowed to modify it under the plugin license, etc?

    Yeah sure, you can edit whatever you want as long as you don’t claim it as yours and make money with my work 🙂

    I feel I should warn you that I wrote the code of that plugin some years ago, and it is probably quite horrible. There will surely be smarter and faster ways to do things than I did, but I was way more naive than I am now. That said, you can hire whoever you like, but maybe if the work is not too burdensome you could even hire me 🙂
