    This is a strange thing. I have the same site duplicated, both in local server and in remote server; the plugin works well in localhost, but doesn’t recognize uploaded videos in the web site. Settings are exact in both cases (I’ve checked it many times); I’ve also deactivated plugins, with no effect.
    In both local and remote servers, the ‘Check Connection’ button returns a ‘correct’ message.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

    You probably have allow_url_fopen disabled on your live server.

    You can check by using the phpinfo() function, or by checking your php.ini file.

    ¿Can you please give further help?
    I’ve checked the php.ini files in the server; there were only a memory_limit line. I added an allow_url_fopen = On line, with no result.
    thanks again;

    I would reach out to your host provider and ask them to assist you. I would first check to see the status of the setting.

    Ok, it works now!
    The problem was that although I turned allow_url_fopen on and refreshed the settings, the ‘recent uploads’ section still gave the error message, and for that I thought It didn’t work yet.
    Until I clicked the ‘refresh’ button and the videos appeared. I’m feeling a bit stupid now.
    Many thanks for the help, and sorry for any inconvenience.
