also want to add a twitter feed to the right side..
i used to have a wordpress.com website, and the twitter feed is a widget, thats really easy to implement.
I don’t see the option to customize or work with the front page slider.
Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Front Page Slider >
Change the slider settings
Enable Front Page Slider
Tag for featuring posts on the slider:
ASC or DSC:
Also, any ideas on how to remove the camera icon?
It appears to be a placeholder. It should turn into a thumbnail when you set a featured image in the post.
You can also ask theme specific questions by posting in the support category for the theme if you like. That way the author is more likely to see it and respond to questions.

im not sure if the slider has the ability to turn into a slideshow? should I use lenslider instead?
also if you look at the first post featured the homepage, the poll is showing up as well. is there a way to reduce how much of the post I’m showing in the homepage?
