After updating 3 different websites to WordPress 3.9 I found that a few other plugins were not working correctly anymore. WP Google Maps and Gravity Forms for starters, but anything using jquery or ajax seems to have problems running correctly. After a bit of debugging and turning plugins on/off I found that disabling NextGen solved the problem.I have updated all the plugins including NextGen to the most current versions. This is not a theme issue as it is happening on three different themes. I need to get this fixed because the only way I can edit the other plugins is by turning off NextGen. It is mainly in the admin area of WP that causes issues.

@eric Cox – We have not had reports of issues with WP Google Maps of Gravity Forms (which we actually use ourselves) so I am wondering if it is not necessarily NextGEN Gallery on its own but another plugin that is creating these conflicts when NextGEN Gallery is activated … have you tried deactivating all of your plugins and starting with NextGEN Gallery to see if that is the case?

I have the same issue. After updating my website to WordPress 3.9 I lost the editor for pages and posts. The menu buttons on top disappeared. The edit area was blank I(did not display the content from the page or post).
Diagnosing the issue revealed that the editor worked fined again if I disabled the NextGen gallery. All other plugins were ok.
I ended up putting the website back to version 3.8 with the help of a backup and am ok for now. However, I cannot upgrade WordPress to 3.9 until the issues with the NextGen gallery are resolved.

same issue for me; I tried to de-activate all the extensions, even I changed the template.
    Thanks fr your help

same here. Using gantry theme as custom theme.
After activating 63 version of next gen, whole frontend goes to hell.
    There is something definitly wrong!

Confirmed; the upgrade causes redirects in Buddypress 2.1 as well. Have moved back to NGG 2.0.40 and the problem has disappeared.

How do you go back to NextGen Gallery 2.0.40? Is this easy to do?

Same problem for me (WordPress 3.9)

With NEXTgen plugin activated i have all visual editors disabled with not buttons and unselectable text areas.
    i can’t edit/create post etc…

    Pls solve this bug.

Same issue here. I’ve updated to Nextgen Gallery 2.65, and WordPress 3.9 and now something’s happened so that Nextgen Gallery doesn’t work and while Youtube links ‘float’ over the page as before, images do not, they force the page to change to the image on its own. An example is this link below.

Can someone fix this at Nextgen, please?

All – It would serve a much better purpose to start your own topic rather than piling onto someone else’s topic.

    Thanks!

Isn’t the answer not the same though? Can you please find out what’s happened with the latest NextGen update, and WP3.9, and find a solution, please?

I found that it was a memory issue. I had 32mb set in php for memory and it wasn’t enough after the update. I bumped it up to 64 and everything works fine.

@eric Cox – Thanks for the update, Eric. Memory limits can cause many issues if they are set too low.

    – Cais.

Ok, where to I change the php memory from 32 mb to 64 mb?

It seems to me that the 2.0.65 version NextGen Gallery has been refreshed (the website says “Last Updated: 2014-5-4”); however my WP site does not let me know there is an update. Do I have to re-install the plug-in? To re-install it I have to delete it first; do I loose the media galleries I have built when I delete it? Thanks

Since this topic is still open and I am not the only person with this issue, has there been any progress on solving it? Increasing the memory did not help for me. I have not upgraded WordPress because of the conflict with NextGen. If there is not way to solve this I may have to switch to another Gallery plugin?

Appreciate any updates on how to solve this issue.
