Community news portal feedback and ideas needed

    Hello wordpress community!

    A little info:

    I have a site at http://www.zaglebiedabrowskie.pl/ it’s basically a community driven news website about local events. The location I live in has 4 big cities that expanded and connected together as time went on – creating a one, huge agglomeration. The ideas is to have one place for people to check for event news instead of looking at all the websites for each city.

    (Hope I explained that right 🙂

    It runs on Buddypress+BBForum.

    What do I want to ask for?

    Do you guys have any ideas how to expand a site like this and encourage user interactions? At this point many users only read the news, few post and I would like to expand the project to get more page views.

    Business catalogue, classifieds, a little local “dating” features is what came in my mind.

    I would love to hear some feedback from not related people – might get me on the right track.

    you should check out other local sites and ask them to feature you . Secondly try using facebook community for members of that city . Hope that helps
