Do inactive plugins have any effect on performance?

    Hi,

    Do inactive plugins slow down WordPress? I have a lot of plugins but many are deactivated, although my company’s website suffers from performance problems (it’s at hcesllc.com). The only other thing that might explain the slow performance is GoDaddy. I’ve heard they try to cram too many sites onto as few servers as possible.

    Thanks. It appears that deactivating more plugins helped. Despite having deactivated many, I still had a lot of plugins that were active. At least, I think that might have been the problem. If it continues to perform well, as it is now, then I’ll come to the conclusion that that was indeed the problem.
