Hi there all. I’m having a problem with this plugin “WP-Cloudy”. It’s very odd and I don’t have much of a fix or an explanation for it. Let me explain.

Basically what happens is I set up a page to get weather. It works fine for a while until the next weather update. Basically I have it set up in the “Display options” of the plugin that it will clear the cache every 90 minutes. However, when this is turned on, after the weather is updated, it spits out a weird sounding error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function asXML() on a non-object in /home/content/63/4026363/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 2038

I took a look at the code and it seems like it’s either having problems finding the location, or possibly getting the weather report. But, I’ve checked numerous different times and have confirmed the city is definitely on OpenWeatherMap. What’s even stranger is that if I update the page manually, it fixes the problem and displays fine.

I really don’t want to update my page every time I want the weather to update! Is there any way to fix this bug? I really like this plugin and don’t want to switch. Thanks

I’m looking into that! Stay tuned!

    Hello,

I get the same error, in three different ways, in different lines wpcloudy.php (all refer to the system cache).

    The lines are:

    /wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 2013
    /wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 2036
    /wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 1991

    Thanks

Yikes – thought I’d done something wrong !

First time user here – looks to be a great plugin, and I hope to find out soon. 🙂

    Good luck with the fix.

I get the following error ie. 50% of times I try to load any page with any WP Cloudy shortcode inserted resulting the page to stop loading anything else:

Fatal error: Call to a member function asXML() on a non-object in /wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 1993

    or

Fatal error: Call to a member function asXML() on a non-object in /wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudy/wpcloudy.php on line 2015

In addition, if this happens, the site is really slow and loading any page takes like 5-10 minutes. It sometimes ends up with “500 Internal Error”. It’s all fine if I disable the plugin and it is not loaded at all.

    Hi all!

Please upgrade to the latest version of WPCloudy (2.7.7) to fix this issue.

Let me know if there is any trouble!
