    Hello,

I just created a page with the contact form and get the following error at the top of the page:

Warning: strpos() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/kerstin/deardietmonster.com/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 193

I have no idea what is causing this?? I am not a php expert.

    Thank you!
    Kerstin

  • Hi Kerstin,

I believe this is caused by your theme or a plugin not being fully compatible with WordPress 3.9.

I would make a backup of your WordPress site, and then update your active theme and see if the error goes away.

next thing to try would be updating plugins.

Hi Robey, thanks for the quick reply!

I am using a twenty eleven child theme which is linked to the twenty eleven theme v1.7 which I believe is the latest. I am also on WP 3.9 and all plug-ins are up-to-date. I only created this site about a week ago so everything is “new”.

I am not even sure I understand what this error means?

Hmmm, it looks like it might be the Grunion Contact Form, as it is quite old and has not been updated for a long time according to the WordPress repository. perhaps try a different contact plugin such as Contact Form 7, or Gravity Forms, or even the contact form bundled inside Jetpack.

Since this contact form is an integrated WP feature I am surprised that it would be out of date but you would know that better than me 🙂 I tested the form and it works fine, could I not just delete the warning message and leave it as it is? It’s the only place where it appears.

on the contact page, is it using a “Contact” page template?
or are you using a shortcode in the page body content?
in your plugins, can you see a plugin called Grunion Contact Form?

I used the “Add Contact Form” button on the page template.

I don’t have a plugin called Grunion Contact Form.

Ok, this looks like the answer in this thread

let me know how you go.

Thanks, Robey, that did the trick! I had searched for previous threads on this but did not see this one. It’s now adding the contact form without the error.

    Thanks for the quick replies!
