  • I was just researching this same questions and found this with no answer 🙂 so i guess i will put in my 2 rupees:

What i’ve found so far: They will both do the same thing. They both email you on lockout. but:
Wordfence only shows you ip number
Limit Login Attempts shows you the attempted username as well.
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/feature-request-show-the-user-being-locked-out
I don’t know where Wordfence keeps/displays the log of lockouts.
Limit Login Attempts shows me the log clearly on its admin screen (but i wish it would show me the date and time as well).

I like Limit Login Attempts better for this functionality, and am using both on several websites at the moment. Haven’t found yet if they would conflict with each other.

    That’s all for now!

    Hi

Generally speaking it is not wise to run two plugins with the same functionality at the same time. It may work and then again it may cause trouble, kind of like running two anti-virus products on a windows computer sounds like a good idea but in practice it causes problems. We offer the same functionality and the options are set on your options page of the plugin.

Here’s a good explanation of the login options on our documentation site.
    http://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#Login_Security_Options

We’re actually in the process of working logging into everything, and sending an email detailing stats at a frequency you request,, like weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

    Hope this helps.

Go to your Wordfence Options page (Last option on Wordfence Menu), scroll further down the page, you will find “Login Security Options”. All your settings to Limit Login attempts are here. And if there’s anything you don’t understand, Wordfence has a little blue “i” you can click on, which will open a new page with explanations for all the settings 🙂

    Loving Wordfence!
