Portfolio Post – is creating a template possible

I would like to know if creating a template for Portfolio post items is possible? I would like basically the same wording, etc. but just want to change the feature image and some of the value items.

Also, when I add slider images to the portfolio post, they do not show, I get the carousel portfolio posts from my front page. Is it possible to include a specific gallery of portfolio posts/photos?
