There is an issue with MaxButtons that started (I think) when I upgraded my site to WordPress 3.9. I’m having the same problem on two sites, both of which have been upgraded to WordPress 3.9.

I’ve put together screen shots, but there is no ability for me to attach a file to this support request. What is the best way for me to deliver my screen shots to you?

I just upgraded to WP 3.9 on WPEngine. I have a working version of MaxButtons running on my site: http://birdhero.com. I needed to add the same set of buttons to http://paddleboardhero.com, so I installed the plugin, clicked Add New and attempted to create a new button.

The problem is I can not SAVE. When I click save nothing happens. When I click “Buttons” from the Nav Panel to see my listing of buttons, none are there. Lastly, I went to the site that is working to create a new button — same problem.

I noticed that when you mouse over the “Save” button that an action URL is not given. I tried forcing in a URL (guessing of course) with a new ID but no luck.

I fixed the problem. Had nothing to do with the plugin. Rookie mistake. The problem was with the Visual Editor. To get this plugin to work you must do the following, skipping any of these steps will not work (at least it didn’t for me).

    – Deactivate ALL plugins.
    – Switch to default TwentyFourteen theme.
    – Manually empty browser cache.

Once your browser cache is empty you can start activating your plugins and your theme.

Are both of these problems fixed? I believe we fixed them on the latest updates but wanted to make sure.
