    Hi,
    I’m using FeedWordPress Advanced Filters (Image Filter, in particular) in conjunction with FeedWordPress and Genesis to create an aggregation site among my 5 sites and, in my experience, these are functions that could be implemented:

    1) Extract only attached images. I’ve posts from my sites, I’m almost sure that there is an enclosure (or a media:content) tag, and it could be good to select only these images instead of inline ones (or, at least, reverse load order);

    2) The first time I loaded all my posts from 5 sites, it was very hard to load images in upload folder because loading was in current year/month subfolder (more or less 20.000 posts * 8 thumbnail formats = 160.000 images in the same folder). It could be a solution to use post publication date to store images;

    3) (I think this is a bug) I loaded some posts twice, and the second time plugin created another “media” record pointing to the same jpg file. When I deleted the first one, WordPress deleted jpg from the second one, leaving me without image files 🙁

    Thanks a lot for help, Davide

    1. Some day I’m looking for a big update of the filters interface. There is always a tradeof between easy of use and amount of options. What you can test is the ‘remove unselected images’ at the image filter. I’m not sure if it will remove the enclosures as well, but either that or the enclosure will probably count as image 1.

    2. FAF just uses standard WordPress image functions so it works nicely with everything else. Using custom formats will just disturb that. In WordPress though you can select if you want everything stored on a month/day basis or not.

    3. Noted. There is a problem with occasional duplication of records indeed in the media library and I still didn’t figure out why and how. It won’t however make double files ( which is more crucial )

    3) you can write a metadata in the attachment with the original image path, so you can check if it was already loaded 🙂 WordPress should support it

    3) (sorry for multiple replies) a note:
    was happened that two images with the same name and from different months
    (es. http://velvetgossip.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/marco-bocci.jpg , http://velvetgossip.it/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/marco-bocci.jpg )
    overwrote each other during the import, with the result that the last post overwrite featured image of previous one. Thanks again
