old blog, email posts, Q’s

Hi I am brand new to wp and have been using blogger for years.

I decided to import my blogger blog to my new wp blog so I can have my blog apart of my website.

My first question is what do I do with my old blog? I hesitate to delete it because of se ranking and the multitude of inbound links.

2nd Q. I have been using googlegroups as an email option for subscribers to receive new blog posts with images immediately.
Blogger has a sendto field where I input the googlegroups email, the post gets sent and quickly distributes it my subscribers.

I’ve used feedburner before and am not to fond of the service.
