    Hello WordPress,

I would like to have Macedonian language on my website? I’m using v3.8.2 . I was using free template (link of the template http://www.templatemonster.com/free-responsive-wordpress-template.html ), I did edit all files (index.php, footed.php, header.php etc) to show things in Macedonian instead of English, but no results (website is still in English)

I need to have my website on Macedonian as soon as possible. Any help? I could translate files for my self, for the purpose of the website, if there is no official file that makes the webpage in another language.

    Hi,

You don’t need to edit the php files, you need to edit the actual text in your Pages. So once you login to your site, you need to go to Pages -> All Pages and edit each page individually.

You might also need to edit the names of the pages, menus and anything else you might have named within the site. In any case, you should be able to do all this from the admin area / dashboard.

If you need to have English AND Macedonian version of the site, there is probably a plugin to help with this, even though there are ways around it.

    Good luck.

This is usually solved through localization of WordPress admin. The easiest way to do this is to install a localized WP version (instead of an English one), found on this site: http://mk.wordpress.org/
Alternatively, you could just take the .po and .mo files and upload them to your ../wp-content/languages folder

The installation will make your admin localized, as well as common theme elements (like posted by, number of comments, etc.)

You might even find a Twelve Fourteen theme completely localized with this package. Should you need, however, to localize your chosen theme further, I would strongly advise to make the child theme first, and make any changes there, so you wouldn’t lose them after the theme is updated.

    Hope this helps 🙂
