Custom URL Link Not Showing In Menu

I created a “Link” under “Menus” and added to the Menu 1 structure in my first WordPress site. I saved the menu. I can see the custom link in the list of menu items in the Dashboard, but it does not appear on the site. After reading some forum posts, I am thinking this could be a problem with the Twenty Twelve theme I am using. Does any one know how to get a “Custom Link” to show up and work in a menu?
