A client introduced me to this plugin and it looked promising.

However, it has some issues that hopefully the developer can address:

1.) Upon installation the plugin automatically creates the “Ask a Question” and the “List of Questions” pages. While this is a nice feature, it unfortunately ignores the page template I need to use with my theme and puts a sidebar on the right using a the “default” sidebar. Both of which are not desired.

2.) I looked into the plugin documentation and discovered it does have some shortcodes available. So I created a new page for my “Ask a Question” and used the short code: “[dwqa-submit-question-form]”. What I then discovered was that you have to keep the plugin settings set to the original page it created “DWQA Ask Question”, otherwise if you change it to the page you manually created it will revert to it’s default page template and sidebar.

3.) Ok, so that’s not too bad – I just have to keep those 2 pages around and it will work. Unfortunately again, there is another issue. When I went to the List of Questions page I made using this shortcode “[dwqa-list-questions]”, I hadn’t entered any questions yet, so underneath the empty list it displayed this text: “Sorry, but nothing matched your filter. You can ask question http://mysite.com/dwqa-ask-question/”

The Problem with that is I am not using the “dwqa-ask-question” page because the template is wrong. 🙁

    Conclusion:
So while this plugin looked promising, until these issues are addressed I can’t use it nor recommend it to my clients.

Oh, and one more thing, the Link it showed to the ask a question page was incorrectly linked to the current “List of Questions” page. So not very useful.
